In a nutshell: The text examines various studies on the effect of breastfeeding on asthma rates, including the one above.  It concludes that the study makes an important contribution to the on-going debate.  However, due to contrary results from various studies, a definitive answer remains elusive.

Breastfeeding reduces risk of breast cancer in women with family history of disease

In a nutshell: A new study suggests that breastfeeding can lower the risk of premenopausal breast cancer in women with a family history of the disease, but will not give any extra protection in women who have no family history of breast cancer.
